Verona worker bags grocery-packing title | Business
A local grocery bagger can call herself one of the best in the state.
Ally Chard, who works at Miller & Son's in Verona, earned third place in the "Best Bagger" competition at the Wisconsin Grocers Association Innovation Expo on Oct. 16.
In the WGA bagging competition, held at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells, contestants were judged on speed, number of bags used, placement of goods, distribution of weight and the bagger’s style, attitude and appearance.
As third place winner, Chard received $100 and a trophy.
Michelle Winson of Burnstad’s Markets in Black River Falls earned second place and a Little Chute worker, Rachel Martin, earned first place and a trip to the finals in February in Las Vegas.
