Home Of Day Care Provider Razed In Verona | News
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
The Verona home that once belonged to a day care provider who was convicted of a charge of reckless homicide in the death of a 4-month-old baby in her care, has been torn down.
Neighbors called the foreclosed home a health hazard after pipes burst and mold grew in the home last year.
The city of Verona gave a repair-or-raze order last summer, and on Wednesday, the home was leveled.
Jennifer Hancock once owned the home. She was found guilty for her role in the death of a 4-month-old baby that suffered a head injury and a broken leg in 2007. Hancock was sentenced to 13 years in prison.
Hancock is currently appealing the decision, according to court records.
